Talent Trials is a free programme in which children who want to join the academy are assessed in age-appropriate groups. It runs four times a year (September, January, March and June), and applications are taken through the online trial form.
How does trial day go?
- Registration and warm-up (20 minutes)
- Technical stations: dribbling, passing, shooting (30 minutes)
- Small-sided games and a match (40 minutes)
- Coach feedback (10 minutes)
What are we looking for?
Not only height or pace, but relationship with the ball, awareness, decision-making, willingness to compete and communication with teammates. Below age 12, learning potential matters more than results.
Shin pads, football boots or turf shoes and a water bottle are enough. Results are sent to parents in writing within three working days, and there is no obligation to register after the trial.
